Effective Date: June 1, 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between Lex Studio and any client who engages us for web design or development services. By moving forward with a project, you're agreeing to these terms. We've written these in plain language on purpose. If something isn't clear, just ask.
Lex Studio provides custom website design and development for small businesses, side hustles, and solo entrepreneurs. The specific scope of each project — pages, features, timeline, and deliverables — will be outlined in your project proposal before work begins.
A deposit is required to reserve your spot and begin work. The deposit amount will be specified in your proposal. The remaining balance is due before your website goes live. We don't launch sites until payment is received in full.
Invoices are due within the timeframe noted on the invoice. If a payment is delayed significantly, we reserve the right to pause work until the balance is settled.
Your project includes two rounds of revisions. A "round" means you compile your feedback, we make the changes, and you review. If you need additional revisions beyond those two rounds, we're happy to keep going — that work is billed at our current hourly rate, which we'll communicate before proceeding.
Once your project is paid in full, you own the final website and its design. You can do whatever you want with it. During the project, until full payment is received, Lex Studio retains ownership of all work in progress.
Any third-party elements used in your project — stock photos, fonts, plugins — are subject to their own licensing terms. We'll let you know if anything requires a separate license on your end.
By working with us, you give Lex Studio permission to display your completed website in our portfolio, on our website, and on social media as examples of our work. If you'd prefer we don't, just let us know in writing and we'll respect that.
We put real time and creative energy into every project. Because of that, we don't offer refunds once work has begun. If a project is cancelled after the deposit is paid and work has started, the deposit is non-refundable. If cancelled before any work has started, we'll discuss it on a case-by-case basis.
A project goes smoothly when both sides show up. We ask that you provide content, feedback, and approvals in a reasonably timely way. Significant delays on your end may push your timeline and could affect your place in our schedule.
Lex Studio's liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. We're not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — things like lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption. Websites depend on a lot of moving parts we don't control (hosting providers, third-party plugins, domain registrars) and we're not liable for issues that originate outside the work we built.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes would be handled in Austin, TX.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If you're an active client, we'll let you know if anything material changes. The current version will always be on our website.
Questions about these terms? Reach out at hello@lexstudio.design. We're a real person on the other end and happy to talk through anything.
